Travelling during bushfire season and campfire safety

If you are travelling or staying near bushfire prone areas this holiday season, fire is a real risk to you. It is therefore essential you know what to do if you encounter a bushfire.

Here are some safety tips you need to know before you travel:

  1. Know the current fire danger rating for the area you are travelling to
  2. Find out if there is a total fire ban in the area
  3. Be prepared to change your plans if the fire danger rating is to high
  4. Pack an emergency kit
  5. Know what to do if you encounter a bushfire while driving
  6. Know the bushfire warning system
  7. Know where to get the latest bushfire information from
